Hips fees
Until the actual official rescheduled launch of HIPS, nobody knows exactly what the fees are going to be. Figures bandied around through news channels and property websites are claiming numbers between three hundred and one thousand pounds. More than likely, the cost of home information packs is likely to be determined by house size and location.
Before you actually put your residential house on the market, you are going to have to have an inspection done on your property, then wait for the official documentation to arrive through the post.
The government has given figures of almost four thousand inspectors already trained, with a further three thousand in training. Will this be enough to cope with the demand? Estate agents are already report a major influx of property owners getting their houses on the market before the rescheduled 1st of August launch date. Any owner or mortgage payer wishing to advertise their home for sale after that date will have to pay the full hips fee.
The main purpose of hips is to help cut energy consumption and aid the repair and regrowth of our already damaged environment.
There are international companies that give their full backing HIPS, such as Friends of the Earth and WWF.
Once the legislation does go live, there are still ways of avoiding HIPS fees.
